Molecular diagnosis and identification of Blastocystis hominis at Wasit Province

Blastocystis hominis is an enteric protozoan. It frequently found in children and may cause chronic diarrhea. The present cross-sectional study was carried out during the period from October to December, 2021 Wasit Province of Iraq. A total 100 stool samples both gender different ages (two years 60 years) suffering primary gastro-intestinal disorders. All were examined microscopically by direct method for identification B. presence other intestinal parasites. number percent infection rate with 34(34%) adults groups, age group (14 – 35) showed highest 12 (35.29 %) lowest ( 51-60 3 (15%). among 4(11.76 36 50 year) 10( 29.41%). males 24 (70.58%) while females 10 (29.41%).. According residence, urban areas reported 24(70.58%) rural (29.41% ).
